The recent development of the COVID-19 vaccines has given us hope of returning to a normal life, but this virus has also been adapting. Responsible for the new surge in India and Indonesia, the Delta variant is now a variant of concern around the world. With it's increased transmissibility, it is 2x more contagious than previous variants, forcing several countries to reimpose lockdowns and heighten restrictions once again.

To many countries, the worst days of the COVID-19 pandemic appear to be over. But the highly contagious Delta variant is reminding us of the unrelenting nature of a virus: it adapts and mutates.
